MADISON – Today, End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin released an open letter to District Attorney Ismael Ozanne urging him not to charge Cierra Finkley. The letter outlines Finkley’s situation and its effects on her individually, while putting the criminalization of Finkley’s actions within the context of the institutional racism that exists in the American criminal justice system.

Madison –  As organizations that have worked productively with elected officials from across the spectrum to reduce gender-based violence, End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault are extremely disappointed in politicians’ recent efforts to insert themselves in school bathrooms and override the judgment of educators and local officials.

Walks in Milwaukee and Madison Remember the Victims

Madison and Milwaukee—According to the 2014 Wisconsin Domestic Violence Homicide Report, 43 people in Wisconsin lost their lives to domestic violence last year. Simultaneous events took place in Madison and Milwaukee to remember the victims and raise awareness about the warning signs of lethal violence. The walks were organized by the Zonta Clubs of Madison and Milwaukee and by End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin.

Madison – End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin (End Abuse) is set to host its tenth annual fundraising luncheon, "Together We Can End Domestic Violence," on September 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Monona Terrace in Madison.

MADISON – Today, the State Senate gave final approval to a bill that grants Wisconsin courts jurisdiction over interstate stalking, harassment and domestic abuse restraining order cases. Advocates praised the passage of Assembly Bill 10 and looked forward to Governor Walker signing the legislation into law.
