CHILDREN’S PROGRAM ASSOCIATE (Full Time)
Employer:Sojourner Family Peace Center
Sojourner Family Peace Center is seeking a caring individual to provide support to children in a temporary domestic violence crisis shelter. This position would involve assisting with planning and/or implementing activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth, processing children’s intakes and teaching skills such as alternatives to violence and safety planning. This position will also facilitate various children’s support groups, perform necessary data entry and reporting, as well as offer support as needed for the 24 hour domestic violence crisis hotline, among other duties. Must be available first and second shift, flexible evening and some weekend hours required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related major and one to two years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. This individual must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills, and be knowledgeable about database systems and data collection methods. Experience working with children of all ages required. Experience with the issue of family violence preferred. Bilingual preferred.
