The Women’s Community currently has a position available as an Anti-Trafficking Advocate.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Anti-Trafficking Advocate will provide crisis intervention, support services, legal advocacy, shelter coverage and follow up for victims of human trafficking.

 

Bi-lingual fluency is a plus.

 

Compensation

Hourly Wage: $20

Primary responsibilities

Direct Service Provision

  1. Provides advocacy, crisis intervention, supportive counseling and follow up services to individuals affected by trafficking.
  2. Provides advocacy for program clients throughout their involvement in the criminal justice system and mental health/social service system.
  3. Provides transportation as required by clients.
  4. Acts as liaison between criminal justice systems and clients.
  5. Provides advocacy regarding legal, medical, financial, and other areas as needed by clients.
  6. Provides information and referrals and general program and issue information.
  7. Provides assessment of individuals seeking shelter.
  8. Provides ongoing support and advocacy to assist clients in maintaining long-term safety.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must possess the ability to work in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Must be able to provide community education/information to large audiences.
  • Must possess knowledge of trauma response, domestic violence/sexual assault dynamics, and understanding of trafficking.
