Organizational Memberships

Organizational Members are private, non-profit organizations, or county government or tribal agencies that

  • have a primary focus on providing direct services to survivors of domestic abuse and or sexual violence in Wisconsin;
  • have a program component that has that as a primary focus;
  • or are programs that receives State of WI Domestic Abuse Program funding and provide shelter and/or services for survivors of domestic abuse and or sexual violence.
  • Organizational Members adhere to the mission, vision and guiding principles of End Domestic Abuse WI and pay annual membership dues.

Organizational Membership starts on May 1, and runs though April 30 of the following year.

They are 3 separate reports because that allows us to see details of each type of data (events, calls, services). If it was all programmed into one report you would only get totals.

Osnium WS Display Reports

Display Reports - these are reports that appear within the various screens using the icon "Show Report." For example, you can get a summary of information from a single client's record (and show details to see what's in the tabs), or you can get a summary of info about a single Event - or selected events if you run the report from the Find Events list.

These are DRAFTS. Mostly they are correct but may be missing a few pieces of information, or may have some incorrectly labeled fields. If you see anything amiss, please contact the End Abuse Technology Coordinator!

NOTE: Some of the reports pull data from other reports so be sure to upload them all. You will see them in a category called "Display Reports" but you can only run the reports from the appropriate screens.

Osnium WS Installation and Remote Access

Osnium's Installation instructions and links for Wisconsin:

*Osnium can install the WS software for you if you want them to, or you can contact Osnium them for help if you run into issues. (contact information at above link). This is a good use of your support time (you get 8 hrs annually). 

  • Before calling Osnium, be sure you know the administrator login and password for your server or computer (any user with administrative privileges). Without that, they won't be able to do anything.
  • Osnium suggests that if you want to minimize the use of your support time, follow the installation instructions on their Wisconsin installation page and do as much as you can before calling them.

​​Remote Access:

If you have outreach offices, it is recommended that you have off-site users log in to a computer that is in the main office connected to the database. Essentially they will be remote-controlling that computer.

There are several ways of doing this, depending on your needs and your agency’s setup. Talk to your IT people/person about what makes the most sense for you:

If you have a Windows server, up to 2 users can remotely connect to the server at one time. You can create accounts on the server that limit what a user can do, so they can’t mess with administrative settings on the server, but can still open the Osnium WS software. Your IT people may need to use one of the logins occasionally for server maintenance so you might have to work out the timing.

You get Remote Desktop licenses to expand the number of simultaneous users that can log in to a Windows server. Assuming your server and internet connection can handle the number of users that log in, remote desktop server licenses are available from TechSoup for $7/user (just a one-time charge).

You can have off-site staff remotely login (using RDP) to an older computer in the main office connected to the network that has the WS software installed. You don’t even need to keep a keyboard, mouse & monitor attached to it. Only one person at a time can remotely connect to a computer, but you can have more than one computer and they don’t need to be powerful.

If you already have a server that allows people to log in to their computers when they are away from the office, you’re already set up. The only caveat is you can’t log in to a computer in the office that someone is currently using.

Additional info from Osnium on scenarios and requirements: Software VPNs will not work, only hardware VPNs.

Osnium WS Model File Updates

The Model File determines how your screens look. Updates include improvements and in some cases, additional fields and lists. 

The June 9, 2016 Model file below includes some additional demographics fields on the hotline call screen and a few other items. Open the Model File Changes - History document below to see what is included and decide whether you want to wait for the final one.

Follow the instructions (below) for saving any customizations you may want to re-create, and for distributing the new Model File to all users.

NOTE: The reports below are FINAL DRAFTS, created specifically for the Wisconsin database. They should work fine. They are more recent than the reports on the Osnium website. Wisconsin users will be notified when these final reports are approved and posted on the Osnium site. 

MEANWHILE: Please TEST THESE REPORTS and give your feedback to the End Abuse Technology Coordinator!


  • Events report (updated 4/20/16) now has a count by zipcode, and the discrepancy between total participants from participant types at the top and at the bottom has been fixed.
  • Volunteer Time report (updated 4/20/16) now calculates the number of volunteer hours and the totals are clarified.
  • Client Activity report (updated 6/20/16) now includes a filter for VOCA Victimizations, has the age of the person in the details, and a few other small glitches are taken care of.
  • Hotline Call report has been modified to incorporate the new fields in the newest Model File. Will not 
  • Stays Report (updated 6/20/16) includes City, City filter and Zipcode, and a details column for age.
  • Client Activity, Stays and WI-Intakes reports now have the ability to just report new or returning clients. See "Blackout Dates Demystified" below.
  • The Client Activity Report replaces the WI-Services Report that initially came with your database. It has the same information and more.

Download Reports:
NOTE: For the Client Activity Report, make sure you remove the old Client Activity Sessions report from the Master Reports > Secondary category before importing the new one. If you don't you'll have to delete the old one and rename the new one (Edit, remove the number, save and close).

The database includes what you need for reporting to DCF, SAVS, VOCA, VAWA and HUD. However some things are specific to your program, so you will want to change some drop-down options and required fields.

IMPORTANT: Consult these 2 documents to learn what you can change and what you shouldn't:

WS Field choices for agencies to customize: This is a list of fields where you may wish to change the drop-down or multiple choice options. 

WS Fields required by funders: This is a chart showing which fields are needed for DCF, SAVS, VOCA, HUD, STOP (VAWA) and SASP (VAWA) reports. (Updated 4-6-16 - includes Home Stay for DCF)

How to prepare:

  1. Make a list of all of the fields and options you want to change, so you will be ready to do it fairly quickly when the database arrives.
  2. Make a list of fields that you want required, and also note existing required fields that you want optional.
