Foundations of Advocacy Training Spring Series

This series is designed for advocates who are new to domestic abuse programs. Topics will include: Movement History, Dynamics of Interpersonal Violence, Trauma Sensitive Practices and Self Care, Crisis Counseling, Safety Planning, Confidentiality, and Advocacy and Systems.  We will build in time for discussion, review and practice with your peers. 

End Abuse staff will be joined by guest presenters Milly Gonzales (HELP of Door County), Reiko Ramos, Nick Ross, and Jennifer Williams (Diverse & Resilient). 

New! There will be five sessions, every weekday from 9am-12:15pm. 

1 – History of the Movement & Dynamics of Interpersonal Violence (5/3/21) 

2 – Trauma & Self Care (5/4/21) 

3 – Crisis Counseling & Safety Planning (5/5/21) 

4 – Confidentiality & Systems (5/6/21) 

5 – Review & Practice (5/7/21) 

This series is intended for domestic violence and sexual assault advocates in the state of Wisconsin and not open to the public. Registrants will be individually approved. Capacity is limited, and advocates from End Abuse Member Programs will receive first priority until April 16. Others will be added to a waitlist. Please sign up at least a week in advance to secure any accessibility needs.
