There will be five sessions in this training series, running from Tuesday, February 2 through Tuesday, February 8. Each will take place from 9am-12:15pm.
1 – History of the Movement & Dynamics of Interpersonal Violence (2/1/22)
2 – Trauma & Self Care (2/2/22)
3 – Crisis Counseling & Safety Planning (2/3/22)
4 – Confidentiality & Examining our Worldview (2/4/22)
5 – Advocacy & Systems (2/8/22)
This series is designed for advocates who are new to domestic abuse programs. Topics will include: Movement History, Dynamics of Interpersonal Violence, Trauma Sensitive Practices, Self–Care, Crisis Counseling, Safety Planning, Confidentiality, and Advocacy and Systems. We will build in time for discussion and practice with your peers.
End Abuse staff will be joined by guest presenters Mandy Chitwood and Kelsey Hood-Christianson (Defy Domestic Abuse, Beloit).
Level: Foundational | This training is designed for advocates who are new to the field of domestic abuse services. No experience or prior training is necessary.
