Join us for this unique event, hosted by the Lac du Flambeau Tribe Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Program, in partnership with American Indians Against Abuse (AIAA) and End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin (End Abuse).
July 24 will begin with the Lac du Flambeau Tribe opening ceremony and drumming, followed by presentations that include: 7 Sacred Directions – Harm Reduction in Indian Country by Chi Ayaabe (Dr. Brian Jackson); interactive training by The National Alliance on Mental Illness, with an overview of major mental illnesses, a simulation of hearing voices, and de-escalation overview and techniques. We will reconvene at 6pm for a musical performance by Paco Fralick.
Details for both days will be available soon.
Scholarships to cover training expenses are available for staff of Tribal Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Programs. Complete a short application by May 30 at AIAA Scholarship Application. AIAA will respond to applicants with more information, including how to register for the training after you have been approved.
