Restraining Order Basics: A Tool that can Help or Harm

Tuesday, September 28, 2021 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join Jennifer Johnson, JD (RISE Law Center), Kari LaScala, JD (End Abuse), and Jeni Haddad (Family Support Center) and fellow advocates to review restraining order law in Wisconsin, using a question and answer discussion format.  The training will include “homework” for participants to complete in advance to prepare for the session. It will focus on comprehensive safety planning that includes restraining orders as a tool to aid in the safety of the person seeking help.

This training is intended for domestic violence and sexual assault advocates in the state of Wisconsin and not open to the public. Registrants should plan to participate in all sessions fully and will be individually approved. Capacity is limited, and advocates from End Abuse Member Programs will receive first priority. Others will be added to a waitlist. Please sign up at least a week in advance to secure any accessibility needs.
