Supporting Families Who Have Experienced Trauma

Monday, March 13, 2023 - Friday, March 17, 2023 9:00 am - 12:15 pm

Join presenters Tracy Plamann (Harbor House) and Cody Warner (End Abuse) for this unique training. Many families who seek our help have lived through multiple traumatic experiences in which domestic abuse has been prominent. The wounds of childhood trauma often drive behavior, feelings, and attitudes into adulthood, and play a powerful role in parenting. This training will help domestic abuse program staff build their capacity for supporting families.

Focusing on the needs of parents as well as children, this program encompasses communication skills and techniques, strategies to reduce stress, and ways to promote positive experiences within the family and the agency.
