Join End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin and the Muslim Women’s Coalition – Our Peaceful Home for a training on Transnational Marriage Abandonment (“TMA”). This is a type of abuse where a lawful permanent resident or US citizen spouse abandons a survivor in the survivor’s country of origin without means to return to the US.
This training will include:
- Case examples
- Key factors to identify TMA
- Advocacy strategies to support these survivors
- Legal issues, including family law considerations, that emerge from TMA and potential solutions
