Trauma, Mental Health, and Substance Use: Skills & tools for advocates

Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - Wednesday, August 12, 2020 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Online Training

This remote training will focus on the complex connections between gender-based violence, substance use and mental health in domestic abuse programs. Participants will map out current program practices to build on skills when mental health, substance use and gender-based violence co-occur. With presentations, small and large group discussion and skills-based practice, we will address when and how to talk about mental health and substance use, how to support an individual with these concerns, application of skills in assessment and how to safety plan. We will open and close with panel discussions exploring different aspects of these topics.

Registrants will receive a Zoom link to participate. Member programs received an early registration benefit, and a waitlist will be started when registration reaches capacity.
