Join Michelle Murray and Becky Hiller from Forward Counseling & Consultation for this interactive training focused on complex connections between gender-based violence, substance use and mental health when working with people seeking domestic abuse services. We’ll address when and how to talk about mental health and substance use, how to support individuals with these concerns, application of skills in assessment, and safety planning around issues of substance use and mental health.

This training will help you identify the physiological mechanisms occurring with trauma, substance use disorder, and associated mental health impacts. You will gain skills and tools for crisis stabilization and to support survivors in substance use disorder recovery.
