Bilingual Crisis Intervention Advocate

Primary responsibilities

Engages in the provision of direct services to victims of domestic violence

o Provides trauma informed direct services to victims of domestic violence and their children

o Approaches all client situations and emergencies with the goal of maintaining client safety

o Provides assistance with safety planning, problem solving, parenting support, information and referrals

o Responds effectively to challenging situations with clients

Participates in advocacy, outreach, and organization representation

o Participates in community education efforts as requested

o Provides training on domestic violence issues to professional groups, including law enforcement and other partner agencies.

o Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with community partners

Advances the work of the Agency in a manner consistent with Organizational Values

o Ensures required service documentation is maintained in a thorough and timely manner.

o Participates in organization grant and contract reporting as needed.

o Adheres to agency policies and work rules.

o Advances knowledge and attends trainings as assigned.

o Provides cross-departmental/functional support and services as needed.

o Maintains professional boundaries.

o Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

o Bilingual (Spanish/English) required

o Excellent written and verbal skills required.

o A Bachelor’s degree is preferred is though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

o Experience working with victims of trauma and their children is strongly preferred, knowledge of domestic violence issues is also strongly preferred

o Experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds preferred.

o Experience in crisis intervention preferred.

o Experience working with volunteers preferred

o Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
