About DAIS:

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) empowers those affected by domestic violence and advocates for social change through support, education, and outreach. DAIS envisions a nonviolent community that actively promotes safety, peace, justice, and hope.

Primary responsibilities

Plan and implement education, training and prevention programming throughout Dane County. Increase awareness and knowledge of domestic violence issues as well as address the primary prevention of dating, domestic and sexual violence. Present awareness-raising presentations to community partners and other stakeholders while prevention programming consists of working with schools and other community partners to co-facilitate groups for youth aimed at addressing the root causes of domestic violence.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • A four-year college / university degree is preferred, though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Effective public speaking skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience creating presentations and utilizing multi-media presentation tools
  • Experience in curriculum writing / development
  • Experience in adult training and education
  • Experience in group facilitation with youth
