Application deadline: April 19, 2024

Employer: National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life, a project of End Domestic Abuse WI

Request for Proposals: Abuse in Later Life Training Video Project

The National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL), a project of End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, is requesting proposals from video production companies interested in working on the Abuse in Later Life Training Video Project. The videos will be used to train victim services providers (domestic and sexual violence advocates) to effectively identify, reach and serve older adults impacted by abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Project Description: The selected video production company will collaborate with NCALL to develop a series of training videos featuring storytelling from advocates and service providers. These videos aim to inspire and educate advocates on addressing abuse in later life, covering topics such as ageism, safety planning, communicating with older victims, types and dynamics of abuse, legal advocacy, and cultural responsiveness. The series will include:

  • Individual videos featuring advocates and service providers sharing their experiences serving older survivors (estimated 12 videos, 2-4 minutes each).
  • A promotional compilation video showcasing inspiring clips from the series (estimated 1 video, 1.5-2 minutes).

These videos will serve as integral components of NCALL’s Abuse in Later Life Training Curriculum, empowering advocates to effectively support older survivors. They will also be used on the NCALL website, social media, or in other NCALL resources or trainings.

Primary responsibilities

Scope of Work: The selected video production company will be expected to:

  • Collaborate closely with NCALL and subject matter experts to develop a comprehensive video outline and interview plan.
  • Film the videos in August 2024 at the National Abuse in Later Life conference in New Orleans, LA.
  • Develop interview questions and conduct interviews when necessary.
  • Provide professional narration, graphics, and visual elements to enhance the educational value and appeal of the videos.
  • Ensure accessibility compliance, including closed captioning and audio descriptions, to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
  • Work with NCALL to determine what footage to use for this project; make final edits.
  • Deliver the final videos in relevant formats for online distribution and training purposes.

Timeline and Location: The approximate timeline for completing this project is June– December 2024, with the filming to occur during the National Abuse in Later Life conference being held August 13-15, 2024, in New Orleans, LA. (The actual number of days of filming to be determined by selected vendor.)

The final project timeline will be determined by NCALL and selected vendor. * Note the dates for filming are not flexible as they are coordinated with a national conference where many of the interviewees will already be located.
