End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin is seeking a professional for a full-time, non- Resource Development Specialist position. This position will work with closely with the Director of Development to manage grants compliance, administration and reporting for more than 20 funding streams. The individual will also support the Director of Development to build and to maintain a strong fund development program to support End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin’s critical mission. We are looking for someone who is passionate and motivated to contribute to the sustainability and growth of a dynamic social justice organization. The Resource Development Specialist must have the ability to work under deadlines and in a team environment. We seek an individual with a broad and flexible skill set — someone who can handle detailed data analysis and reporting, who can write compelling grant reports and applications, and who can engage with potential donors. A successful candidate will already possess a solid base of skills and be able to demonstrate a high degree of potential to learn and grow in the position. Extensive software skills and sensitivity to confidential matters are required.

Primary responsibilities

Grant Compliance and Financial Management

  • Assist with grant management and provide additional support when needed.
  • Assist with the administration of End Abuse’s sub-recipient monitoring protocols for the Department of Children and Families’ Prevention Grant sub-grantees, including monitoring financial reporting and conducting site visits in collaboration with the Director of Prevention and Outreach.
  • Provide practical assistance to sub-grantees to empower them to succeed in the implementation of their grants
  • Be able to exercise progressively greater levels of responsibility while gaining more experience in the position.

 

Grant Reporting and Administration

  • Analyze grant report data and write report narratives.
  • Produce grant reports for state and federal government funders and private funders when needed.
  • Organize grant application materials and assist with writing, editing and organizing grant applications.
  • Maintain required organizational System for Award Management annual registration and other registrations or documentation as needed.
  • Assist with filing grant adjustment requests as needed.
  • Be able to exercise progressively greater levels of responsibility while gaining more experience in the position.

 

Fund Development Support

  • Assist in building and maintaining a strong fund development program to support End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin’s critical mission.
  • Draft foundation grant applications and proposals.
  • Engage with potential donors.
  • Track contributions, data entry and coordinate donor follow-up.
  • Prepare and manage mailing lists.
  • Assisting with event planning, including liaising with vendors, consultants and volunteers.

Leadership Role:

This role requires leadership in the development and maintenance of systems and processes that help keep the organization running smoothly. It requires the ability to think beyond the day-to-day, and to propose solutions that will allow End Abuse to continuously improve its resource development strategies. It also provides the opportunity to enhance our management of multiple grants across numerous funding streams. This position is uniquely positioned to support the critical functions of the organization. Confidentiality and attention to detail are required of anyone in this role.

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and report on large data sets, with an attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to precisely and efficiently read, analyze and adjust budgets, working with accountants to ensure grant compliance;
  • Must be reliable, professional and maintain confidentiality;
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative and a quick learner;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to proofread documents and emails carefully;
  • Ability to work on a deadline and produce high quality, accurate results;
  • Comfortable working independently, and on a team;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable;
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage concurrent projects;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook and Word;
  • Data entry and data management software experience.

 

Preferred

  • 2-year accounting or business degree or comparable financial or accounting experience;
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting or budget management;
  • Comfort and experience using different forms of technology and software;
  • Experience in grant writing and reporting;
  • Experience with donor management software;
  • Experience with implementation of social media campaigns;
  • Experience with data management and analysis;
  • Experience with government grant compliance;
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Office365;
  • Any foreign language skills a plus!

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

 

  • Work performed in an office setting or at a training requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel across the state requires a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance, which must be current and on file at all times.
  • Ability to lift office supplies and materials on occasion for trainings less than 50 pounds.
  • The person in this position must be able to exchange accurate information over the telephone and/or online via Skype or some other application.

This is a non-exempt position. The salary range for this position starts at $41,500 a year based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, employee assistance program, and paid vacation, holidays and sick leave.
