The Women’s Community currently has a position available as a Domestic Abuse Program Shelter Occasional Advocate, staffing our 24 shelter and support line:
- overnight shifts every other weekend
- total of 10 – 20 hours per two-week pay period
- $19/hour
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Domestic Abuse Program Coordinator, provides crisis intervention, support services, and shelter coverage for domestic and sexual violence victims.
During overnight shifts, staff can sleep on the bed in the shelter office. Sleep can be interrupted by support line calls or shelter residents needing assistance.
Must possess ability to provide non-judgmental services.
Must be familiar with the dynamics of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Bi-lingual fluency is a plus.
