You may know the what and why (or why not) of restraining orders – this training will delve into the how. We will address such practical matters as how to complete the paperwork, how to file, including e-filing, and and understanding the role of service representatives/advocates in the court process.

This series is designed for advocates who are new to domestic abuse programs. End Abuse staff will be joined by guest presenters Ana Price, of Domestic Abuse Intervention Services; Missy Jerome, Angela Frieze, and Jessica Christianson , of Embrace. Topics will include: Movement History, Dynamics of Interpersonal Violence, Trauma Sensitive Practices and Self Care, Crisis Counseling, Safety Planning, Confidentiality, and Advocacy and Systems.  We will build in time for discussion, review and practice with your peers.

Welcome Theda New Breast and Jillene Joseph (Native Wellness Institute) for two powerful hours focused on experiencing grief, healing, and wellness in community. 

Stalking is a prevalent, dangerous and often misunderstood crime. This training will explore the dynamics of stalking, focusing on the highly contextual nature of the crime by discussing common tactics used by perpetrators, stalking’s co-occurrence with domestic and sexual violence, as well as tools to plan for victim safety and hold offenders accountable.

When persons who have been trafficked acquire a criminal record as a result of their victimization, their paths forward are further jeopardized. This presentation will discuss strategies for removing this critical barrier trafficking victims face.
