WCASA and End Abuse uphold the ‘Moment of Truth’ letter of acknowledgement and intention, created and affirmed by several coalitions across the country. This statement has been released on behalf of the signatories to several national partners. As coalitions, we will use the letter as a catalyst for discussions within our membership; guidance for our policy initiatives and community building actions; and a blueprint for how we conceive of our work.

We oppose state-sanctioned violence and call on Minnesota law enforcement to arrest and charge all four police officers who murdered Mr. Floyd as he pled with them, his last words: “Please, I can’t breathe…Everything hurts. They’re going to kill me.” Arrest them NOW!

In addition to COVID-19, we are seeing another public health crisis where domestic abuse is “flourishing in the conditions created by the pandemic.” Your donation will support our work with mothers in abusive homes so they can receive the services they need to thrive.
